The Farm Shop
The farm shop is an Artisan treasure trove, an especially curated mix of over 400 items including rare and heritage products, every product stocked in the converted barn store comes from a local farmer, grower, producer within the heart of the Lake District.
All food is seasonal or fresh bath produced and is some of the finest food and drink in then land.
Enjoy a tasting, talk and sampling session which highlights the unique Lake district food and drink experience that is the Lakeland Larder from one of the local produce champions.
The Lakes Distillery in beautiful Cockermouth countryside on the edges of the Lakes District National Park, the site is a former farm which was converted into a distillery in 2011 selected due to it’s fantastic location next to the river Derwent. Our tour is given by the distillery experts and allows you to immerse yourself in the sites, smells and sounds of the distillery following the journey of how every flavour possibility is achieved. Lakes Distillery was won numerous awards including Best Distillery of the Year 2023.
Accompanied by an expert tour guide, you will explore the still room, learn about the impact of oak and cask seasoning on flavour creation, and discover how Lakes whisky, gin and vodka is made.
Shed One was launched in October 2016 in the coastal market town of Ulverston, Cumbria. Shed One Distillery produces award-winning, micro-batch, craft gin.
Opened in The Old Calf Shed in 2019 Shed One offer unique flavour profiles of Gin.
The Gin Tasting will take you through 4 different spirit profile drinks, give you a tour of the micro distillery and have a chat and Q&A with the couple who founded the distillery Zoe and Andy to tell you all about their story and botanicals behind them. As well as gin, they also create botanical spirits with many of the ingredients being foraged and locally-grown. ShedOne is also the recipient of the icons of Gin award in 2022.
Unsworths Yard is in Beautiful Cartmel which is located on the southern edge of the Lake district and is becoming known as Gastrohub of Cumbria.
It’s a hidden gem of a Microbrewery set in a fantastic village to walk around with Artisan food manufacturers a plenty including:
Cartmel Cheeses , a small batch producer of Artisan local Cheeses from all over Cumbria and Lancashire which are rare and a must for those who enjoy rare cheeses.
Cartmel drink shop which specialises in fine wine, spirits and liqueurs much off it on a“ try before you buy” policy.
Cartmel is also the home to sticky toffee pudding baked in the local village shop for over 20 years.0
Hawkshead Brewery in the beautiful Lake District village of Staveley, surrounded by rolling countryside interspersed with valleys, woods and drystone walls.
Hawkshead are famous for being one of the first new wave of craft brewers in UK, creating highly hopped flavorsome beers, rarely seen in cask since 2002. The covers Hawkshead Brewery to the present day, as well as giving you a full insight into how their award winning beers are made and the unique processes we use to create the perfect pint.
The tour starts with an in-depth look at the history of Hawkshead Brewery including a short video, guided walk behind the scenes where you’ll experience the sights, sounds, and most importantly the smells! As all tours should, you’ll finish in The Beer Hall, where you can enjoy a Pint or 3xthirds from their delicious core range of beers. (Choice of soft drinks available also)

The blind chocolatier is a hand crafted local chocolatier who is on a mission to produce the finest local non mass produced chocolate for the finest of tastes.
More Artisan Bakery provide a “real” alternative to the fast processed quick fix food and bread widely available. Today at More Bakery they produce handmade, artisan treats for some of the Lake District’s finest eateries.
Duffins Are Artisan Coffee Roaster offering a delicious range of beans, roasted regularly in their shop which are available to take away as beans to use at home or to drink in a selection of tasty drinks.
Abbott Lodge Jersey Ice Cream
Abbott Lodge, near Penrith, Cumbria is a working dairy farm set in spectacular scenery of the Eden Valley midway between the Pennines and the Northern Lake District.
The farm produces over 40 flavours of high quality homemade Jersey ice cream. Environmentally aware they use compostable tubs & spoons, sell pasteurised milk in glass bottles and are trying to reduce single use plastic.
The farm was restocked with Jersey cattle in February 2002 following foot and mouth in 2001. The cows are milked by robot and are free to choose when they eat, lie down and get milked. They have a pond on the farm and have planted 2.5 miles of hedges to look after the environment for the next generation.
